National Horticulture Conference 2011

Background

Following the success of three National Horticulture conferences, the National Horticulture Conference 2011 (NHC) will be held in Malacca, on October 18-20, 2011 to deliberate issues on large scale production of horticultural crops.

The horticulture industry contributes significantly to the agricultural Gross Net Income (GNI) in Malaysia. The government has set policies in promoting horticulture industry since the 9th Malaysia Plan. Commercialization has been a focus and is likely to respond to demand and price signals.

Horticultural production in Malaysia is beset with production and marketing issues that need to be addressed to sustain and enhance the industry.  The objective of this conference is to facilitate a forum for the exchange of information on horticulture production.  Throughout the conference, horticulture crop production will be much discussed.  The outcomes will provide participants with the most up to date policies and results from current and recent research results.  This knowledge will ultimately assist growers to produce crops with better quality, increased production and further strengthen the industry. With this announcement, the Organizing Committee invites everyone to participate in the conference.
